The initial leg of this tour will take you through the Sheikh Hussein Bridge border crossing into Jordan. Our first destination is Jerash, located in the fertile land of Gilead. Once a Roman eastern frontier city-state, Jerash boasts well-preserved ancient ruins including colonnaded streets, temples, and bathhouses. After exploring Jerash, we will continue our journey through the breathtaking Jordanian landscape towards Amman, where we will embark on a panoramic tour of this iconic capital before settling into our hotel for the night.

Before heading to Wadi Musa, the nearest town to Petra, enjoy an early breakfast. Petra can be approached through a narrow gorge called the “Siq,” which is flanked by high rock cliffs. You have the option to enter on foot or on horseback, as merchants did thousands of years ago when Petra was a stop on an ancient trade route. The Nabataeans, who carved their city out of red-hued cliffs, built Petra in the 3rd-2nd century BC. You will have the opportunity to see the Treasury, tombs, and temples. To get an overview of Petra, visit Al Madhbah’s top before returning to Wadi Musa for an overnight stay.

The day’s journey commences with a drive from Petra to Madaba, an ancient city that is renowned for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. We pause along the way to admire the famous Holy Land map, a mosaic from the Byzantine era, and other places of interest before proceeding to Mount Nebo. This is the spot where Moses cast his eyes on the Promised Land. From this vantage point, we can view the Dead Sea, Jordan Valley, and Jericho. After exploring a Byzantine church to marvel at its splendid mosaic floor, we journey across the Allenby Bridge border crossing and continue onwards to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
